Theatr Gwaun Fishguard will host The Dylan Thomas Film Festival in September ,as part of the 100th anniversary of Dylan Thomas’ birth (DT100).

The festival starts on September 26 at 7.30pm with a screening of The Edge of Love (15), the 2008 film which tells the story of the “passion and pathos” of Thomas through the lives of the women who loved him, and stars Fishguard local hero Matthew Rhys as Thomas.

On Saturday September 27 at 10am, starting at Fishguard Library, there is a very special Under Milk Wood film location walk, led by the film’s screenwriter/director Andrew Sinclair, and featuring a local group of actors reading extracts from the text.

On Saturday, September 27, 7.30pm, the main event of the festival is a screening of Under Milk Wood itself, which will be hosted by Tony Earnshaw, followed by the unmissable opportunity of a Q&A with the film’s Director Andrew Sinclair.

The festival concludes at Theatr Gwaun on Sunday at 2pm , with a screening of the fascinating – and self-explanatory – documentary Dylan on Dylan, with an introduction by Andrew Sinclair, and followed by the book launch of ‘Under Milk Wood Revisited: The Wales of Dylan Thomas’ by Mark Davis & Tony Earnshaw. This remarkable book contains hundreds of new images related to Dylan, his home, his legacy and his work along with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes production shots from the movie of Under Milk Wood and its Fishguard locations.
