The summer tennis season started in Fishguard last Saturday. The local tennis club has organised a series of junior tennis competitions for every Saturday on the school courts at Ysgol Bro Gwuan.
For the next three weeks all juniors are playing in seeding competitions to determine rank order for future knock out tournaments. The intention will be to have Mini Tennis competitions for children under the age of 11, Beginners Junior Tournaments for under 16s and a ‘Performance’ Tournament for invited, more experienced players. So whether a complete beginner or a county standard performer there will be competitions appropriate for all ability levels and all ages.
In addition to Saturday competitions the club also provides coaching classes on Monday evenings. To join, just turn up to the Ysgol Bro Gwuan Courts on Mondays; 4.30 pm for U 11s - 5.30 pm onward for U16s. For more details you can contact John Deason on 07774 900139.
