Crymych and Newcastle Emlyn continue to set the pace at the top of Division One West, with the Preseli men notching a 24-17 win over Gorseinon to keep their noses in front.

Emlyn, however, are breathing down their necks after they returned to action with an impressive 40-14 home win over Aberystwyth, to make it seven from eight matches.

Crymych were made to work hard by a fired up Gorseinon, with tries by by scrum half Huw Rees and returning skipper Carwyn Phillips back at No 8 putting them in charge.

Gorseinon's Tom O’Kelly slotted an early penalty, and they went ahead at the break via an interception try by centre Dai Rees, converted by O’Kelly, along with a penalty try.

The Preseli Men made a positive response after the break with centre Gethin Gibby crossing over for a brace of tries, and hooker Carwyn Rees made sure of a bonus point.

Full back Adam Phillips slotted two conversions to make it nine wins and a draw from their 10 league matches, ahead of this weekend's break due to the Six Nations.
