Cardigan Golf Club held its last Winter Open on Monday 28 March, with 20 teams of four entered, and scoring was generally good in the testing wind.

The winners with an excellent 95 stableford points were M Roberts, J Fogwill, G Jones, E Lewis (Cardigan).

In second place on countback with 91 points were R Morgan, C Rees, A Thomas, J, Jones(Cardigan), and in third place were N Davies N Edwards, A Davies, L Thompson (Cardigan), also with 91 points.

In other Club competitions held in March, the Greensomes Yellow Box Medal attracted 16 pairs.

The winners on countback were Andy Williams and Gordon Cutter with a nett 71.0.

In second place were Vaughan Jones and Andy Rodda also with a nett 71.0, and in third place were Mike Smith and Steve Hurley with a nett 73.0.

The Sir John Lyn Thomas 4 ball better ball medal played off the white tees attracted 14 pairs.

The winners on countback with a nett 68 were J Jones and A Thomas.

In second place, also with a nett 68, were G Jones and D Marshall, and in third place on countback with a nett 69 were M Roberts and K Phillips.

The Seniors Section led by Captain Ned Kelly have had a winning start to their inter-club matches, beating both Haverfordwest (6.5/1.5) and Carmarthen (4.5/3.5), both matches played at home. Their next match is away to Tenby.
