ALTHOUGH officials and players in the Cardigan & District Pool League are hopeful of completing last season, which was suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, a big question mark hangs over the possibility of further action.
When cueing ceased in March, champions of two seasons ago and pacesetters Red Lion had opened up a five-point advantage over reigning kingpins Lamb A, who ended with a game in hand on their neighbours.
In addition to the league championship, other outstanding competitions were in the Veterans' Cup, League Pairs, Three-a-side Jeff ‘Fly’ Jones Memorial Trophy, Captain’s Cup, Open Pairs and Singles.
With season 2020-2021 not due to start until the end of September, many feel there will be sufficient time to wrap up outstanding matters.
But with social distancing, and whatever other rules are in place, the future remains unclear.
