CARDIGAN ABC look to have unearthed a promising young talent in 14-year-old Oscar Kail who made a winning debut in Gorseinon – having only taking up the sport four months ago.

Boxing in the 45kg class, the raw teenager – who had never previously attended a boxing show – took control from the off against fellow debutante Ellis Owen (Penyrheol ABC) at Pengry Workingmen's Club.

Oscar maintained the pressure throughout with clean, straight punching, while his superior fitness saw him finish each round the stronger, taking victory by a unanimous decision.

The evening also saw 18-year-old Garan Croft box Lewis Parfitt (Maerdy ABC) in his first senior bout, his first without headguard and the 91st of his career.

The Crymych teenager boxed beautifully, immediately taking control with his jab before getting his range with the right hand and keeping Parfitt on the defensive for most of the fight en route to a unanimous points victory.
