After a break for WRU cup competitions Newcastle Emlyn, Crymych and Cardigan return to league action with Emlyn looking for a League 1 West hat-trick, Crymych hoping for points in the same division to climb the table and Cardigan of League 3 West A facing a tough away assignment.

Emlyn started the season with a 45-3 win at Gorseinon before coming out on top 20-10 in a Ceredigion derby clash with Aberystwyth.

Their opponents Whitland won 22-16 at home against Gowerton in the first game before edging it 25-24 at Pembroke

Division One West is so competitive there are no easy games and this one appears difficult to call with perhaps the Teifisiders making it three out of three.

Crymych got off to a flyer by repelling the challenge of visitors Llangennech at Parc Lloyd Thomas but seven days later crashed 24-3 at Hendy.

The north Pembrokeshire men could be hard-pressed to subdue visitors Felinfoel who sprang a 34-29 win over visitors Hendy and emerged 25-13 away winners against Llanelli Wanderers.

Cardigan suffered a narrow defeat at Llangwm but bounced back with a comprehensive win over visitors St Davids.

The Cardis visit Laugharne who opened with a 30-23 win over Aberaeron and the following weekend were 38-9 winners against St Clears.

Cardigan will undoubtedly give everything for the cause at Wooford Park, but with home advantage the Carmarthenshire high-flyers will be difficult to overcome.
