Local football followers are looking forward to the tenth Jimmy James Memorial 7-a-side Tournament at School Field in St Dogmaels on Saturday (July 13) which is expected to attract sizeable crowds.
It is an annual event in memory of talented player Jimmy James of Llangoedmor who died tragically in March 2009, aged 23 – he was a former St Dogmaels player, was capped for Wales at youth level, starred in the Welsh League with Newcastle Emlyn and at one stage was on the books of Manchester United.
Held under the auspices of the Central Wales Football Association the tournament features eleven teams competing in a round-robin format with two groups.
The teams include three from Costcutter League champions and hosts St Dogmaels and two from Newcastle Emlyn.
The football action gets underway at 1pm with a number of other attractions and refreshments.
