Soccer administrators in south Ceredigion could elect to change the set-up of the Costcutter League by abolishing the third division.

The matter is top of the agenda at the league annual general meeting at Ffostrasol on Tuesday, July 9, at 7.30pm when clubs will discuss a suggestion at a recent league meeting by long-serving secretary Geraint Davies.

As it stands there are 24 teams split into three divisions but last season there were only 14 league games in the third tier.

Mr Davies suggests 12 teams in two divisions, with the first division increased to 12 with promotion from the second tier for top three Dewi Stars, Aberporth and Maesglas.

The bottom two in the first division Bargod Rangers and Aberaeron Reserves would be relegated bringing the number of teams in the second division to 12.

Also at the AGM Rhys Evans of Aberporth will stand down as chairman after his two-year stint to be replaced by John Jones of Dewi Stars.
