Rising to the occasion Llechryd sprang an eight-wicket win over visitors Narberth to avoid relegation on the final day in the Pembroke County League Division Two.
Anything but outright victory would have seen the Teifisiders fall through the trapdoor instead of Stackpole who beat Pembroke in their final outing.
Despite a fine innings of 55 by Loui Davies, who was given support from Richie Adams (30), third in the table Narberth lost wickets at regular intervals and the innings closed on 144-9.
Rhys Beard was best of the home bowlers with five wickets and Mike Gregory picked up two.
In the Llechryd reply Beard carried on where he left off with the ball, the all-rounder getting his head down in a fine innings of 51 and there were useful contributions from Michael Carter (34), Andrew Fletcher (22 not out) and Steve Smith (21) as the homesters got the runs for the loss of five
wickets.
