THREE local Welsh squad sailors have returned from six days of racing at Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy.
The boys, who are members of Clwb Cychod Teifi, were among 280 young sailors from around the UK competing in the GJW direct Topper National GBR Championships.
The Nationals offers a unique challenge. It is an intense and focused period for a sailing competition with up to six hours of racing every day.
Three days of qualifiers saw Gruffydd into the gold flight and George and Dafydd into the bronze flight. The boys ended the week happy with their overall performance.
For the older two boys, this was their last event in a Topper and Gruffydd and George transition into the Olympic-class 29er boat while Dafydd continues in his Topper - all three aiming to compete in the British Welsh Regional Championships in September.
