Two years since New Quay Football Club informed the Costcutter League it was pulling out due to a lack of players but shortly afterwards decided to continue after locals rallied round, there has been another appeal for players to prevent the club from folding.
Over the years the Seasiders have done the community proud with numerous successes including lifting the J Emrys Morgan Cup in season 2010-2011, capturing three Costcutter Division One championships, winning the Easter Monday League Cup and three Bay Cup finals.
But along with some of their south Ceredigion rivals the Seasiders, who boast a licensed club a stone's throw from the Parc Arthur ground, have struggled to raise teams week in and week out.
Appealing for players and anyone interested in helping out behind the scenes, a club spokesman told the Tivy-Side: "It has to be said that we have limped along over the past two seasons."
Urging old and new players to turn up for training at Parc Arthur on Wednesday at 6.30pm the spokesman said: "Please help us to keep New Quay FC going and ensure football has a future in our community."
