EMLYN Runners hosted the first Abercych 10k race recently and with 76 runners and their families cheering on, it proved a resounding success.
It was a warm evening but that didn’t deter the runners as they set off along the Cych Valley, most of which was shrouded in the shade of the surrounding woodland, which gave some reprieve from the sun.
There was an array of runners from the established, frequent racers to the first timers on the race scene with many completing their first 10k distance.
Emlyn Runners were in good company and had the honour of welcoming members from various clubs – West Coast Tri, Sarn Helen, Carmarthen Harriers, Team Cemais, Neath Harriers, Pembrokeshire Harriers, Emlyn Flyers, Rhys Harries Fitness, Rhys’ Angels, Trots, Rhedwyr Preseli, Howies, Sian Spencer Personal Fitness, Cardigan Running Club and Primal Health.
Organisers thanked the people and businesses who supported this event – The Nag’s Head, Online Race Results, Howies, Steffan Davies – and the local community who were patient and considerate to the runners.
