Cup fighters Crymych of League 1 West have been drawn at home against Ystalyfera of League 1 West Central in the quarter-final of the WRU National Plate.

The Preselimen sauntered through the first round with a 58-16 win at Llanybydder before being given a walkover in round two when Blackwood failed to raise a team for the trip west.

A 27-25 win over visitors Tondu saw the north Pembrokeshire villagers reach the fourth round where they rose to the occasion in springing a 17-7 win over holders and visitors Penallta.

Ystalyfera, currently flying high in the league have been drawn at home in all previous four rounds, emerging 38-0 winners over Cwmavon in the first and coming out on top 16-3 against Llandudno at the next stage.

The upper Swansea Valley villagers won 8-5 against Bonymaen in round three and went through to the last eight after a 30-3 win over Maesteg.

The quarter-final tie, which is expected to pack them in at Parc Lloyd Thomas, is to be played on Saturday, March 10, and in the meantime bottom of the league Crymych will be hoping to pick up points to stave off relegation.
