SOMEWHERE Over the Rainbow there was a treasure trove of local talent as the audiences at Fishguard Musical Theatre Society's half term show, the Wizard of Oz can attest.

Months of hard work and rehearsing was rewarded with full houses and four fabulous performances of this popular musical.

The cast, ranging in age from five to 70 plus put on a stunning show full of memorable musical numbers, stunning sets and colourful costumes.

Fishguard Musical Theatre Society (FMTS) returned to Theatre Gwaun for this production and split the profits with them, raising a generous £1674 for the theatre. The other half of the profits will be reinvested into the society for future productions.

"The show went very well," said director Rain Mallone Hallett. "Cerys playing her first ever role with FMTS was a wonderful Dorothy and was so professional.

"The other cast complimented her perfectly, with the lion being a massive hit with audiences.

"The little munchkins sang their hearts out, bless them, and their smiles are the reason I do this."

FMTS is currently based at the Studio in West Street, Fishguard. Its next production will be Cats, running from April 17 to 21 at Ysgol Bro Gwaun.
