A SPECIAL event celebrating the natural world, which will include a speaker from the Blue Plant II TV series, is taking place on Friday, October 26, in the Torch Theatre.
The Pembrokeshire wildlife event, hosted by Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum, is now in its 9th year.
Designed to tie in with Wales’ ‘Year of the Sea’ this year has a special marine theme and features some expert guest speakers. The aim is to inspire people to get out and about enjoying our coastline and loving nature.
All proceeds raised will go towards supporting the work of the Pembrokeshire Marine Code.
This year’s fantastic speaker line up ranges from local projects and published storytellers.
The speaker line-up includes Steve Simpson - Professor at the University of Exeter whose research on fish communications featured on Blue Planet II, Sian Sykes - the first person to stand-up paddleboard around Wales, and Ffion Rees – a local skipper and storyteller with over 20 years’ experience of Ramsey Sound and the Celtic Deep.
Other speakers include: Joanna Barker - co-founder of the Angel Shark Project: Wales, working to safeguard one of the world’s rarest sharks here in Wales, and Beverley Phillips - engagement officer for the Wildlife Trust’s Living Seas project, inspiring people to love our coast.
