A 22-year-old-man whose body was found in the River Teifi in Newcastle Emlyn yesterday has been named locally as Jem Pendragon.
Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the town at around 12.30pm following reports that a man had fallen into the river at Bridge Street.
They carried out an extensive search before a body was found last evening.
A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said the body had been formally identified by next of kin and there were no suspicious circumstances.
