Richard Hammond has revealed he "would have carried on" with The Grand Tour alongside Jeremy Clarkson and James May.
Hammond, Clarkson, and May rose to fame on Top Gear.
The trio hosted the popular BBC show from 2002 (James May from 2003) until 2015, with the help of producer Andy Wilman.
All four left Top Gear in 2015 when Clarkson's contract was not renewed following an altercation with a producer.
They later launched The Grand Tour with Amazon, which ran from 2016 to 2024.
Richard Hammond reveals he would have kept The Grand Tour going
Hammond, Clarkson, May, and Wilman walked away from The Grand Tour in 2024.
But Hammond has now revealed he would have stayed with the Amazon Prime show if all four had agreed.
Speaking during an appearance on the High Performance podcast, the 56-year-old explained: "If the others had said let’s carry on, I’d have carried on.
"This time I didn’t have any choice.
"I’d have carried on ’cause I would ...
"If they were ready to stop, we had to stop.
"There was no question.
"We all four had to be there to do it, so I was ready to stop because the others were.
"But equally, if the others had said let’s carry on, I’d have carried on."
Hamonnd continued: "That’s not because I’m easily swayed, it’s because I wanted us to still be in that place.
"It’s quite a complicated four-way relationship, a 25-year career together like that.
"And if we weren’t all in that place of wanting to do it, then ... I wouldn’t want to do it.
"Because it wouldn’t work.
"Couldn’t do it."
What does Jeremy Clarkson think of The Grand Tour's new hosts?
The Grand Tour has since been rebooted, with new hosts Francis Bourgeois, Thomas Holland, and James Engelsman, though Hammond, Clarkson, and May have appeared in cameo roles.
Wilman, speaking to The Sun, said that Clarkson supported the new line-up after watching their audition tapes.
He said: "Jeremy said he’d only endorse them as long as I like them.
"So he watches the tapes, and he’s like: 'Yes, I really like them.
"I’m happy to endorse.'
