A couple jointly accused of improperly setting up a registered charity in the Llangrannog area from which they are alleged to have unlawfully obtained in excess of £20,000 appeared briefly on Thursday before Ceredigion magistrates.
The Rescue Foundation charity was registered at Pontgarreg by Miriam Lewis (53), of Lluest Goch, Ystumtuen, Aberystwyth, and Haydn David Williams (52), of Chalet 13, Clarach Bay Holiday Park, Aberystwyth, and the case is one which will ultimately be tried at the Crown Court.
They are jointly charged with 14 offences - four of false accounting, nine of theft by an employee and one of obtaining a money transfer by deception.
The proceedings were adjourned at the request of Crown prosecutor Mrs Sue Crossley for Crown Court committal papers to be prepared.
