The Crymych Heritage Group received a grant in March 2008 for £4,010 in order to produce a bilingual leaflet outlining the historical and cultural development of Crymych from the lottery funded grants programme 'Awards For All Wales.'

The group was formed in 2,003 with the encouragement and guidance of PLANED, the agency based at Narberth which kick starts so many rural initiatives be they cultural, economic or environmental.

Information was gathered from the Crymych community, culminating in a two day exhibition in March 2,007.

This exhibition was very well attended, generating interest from young and old, locals and newcomers to the area. It was then decided to produce a written and illustrated history of the village in pamphlet form.

This pamphlet will be available to tourists and locals alike and hopefully prove effective in bringing people together promoting awareness and pride in the locality.

At the launch of the pamphlet in Crymych Market Hall ,Mr John Williams, Chairman of the group said, "It has been a rewarding experience gathering data, maps and old photographs involving many members of the community.

The exercise has proved invaluable as much information tends to disappear with the passage of time and the rapid growth of the village. It is pleasing to note that a local graphic artist Mr Llyr John illustrated the pamphlet."

Research will continue within the group with particular reference to the establishment of businesses within Crymych.

Anyone interested in joining the group is more than welcome.
