ACCLAIMED Welsh singer-songwriter Tom Jenkins will launch his spring tour with a special performance at Canolfan Bethlehem, Newport, this Thursday, April 23.

The opening night will feature support from rising Welsh artist Rhi Jorj (appearing on this date only), in what promises to be a powerful showcase of contemporary music rooted firmly in Wales.

Hailing from the Valleys, Mr Jenkins is not only a musician but also a working shepherd and sheep shearer - an authenticity that runs deeply through his songwriting.

Recently named BBC Radio Wales Artist of the Year 2025, he has built a growing reputation for his evocative blend of folk, indie and Americana, grounded in the landscapes and lived experiences of rural Wales.

Fresh from an appearance at Willie Nelson’s ranch at the renowned Luck Reunion Festival in Texas, Mr Jenkins returns home to begin a tour that bridges international momentum with a deep connection to Welsh audiences.

His work, praised for its ‘soft melodic songwriting and beautiful storytelling’, continues to position him as one of the most distinctive voices emerging from Wales today.

Supporting Mr Jenkins for the Canolfan Bethlehem show, Rhi Jorj is a singer-songwriter from Bala, north Wales, whose music draws inspiration from the natural world and personal experience.

Performing in both Welsh and English, her sound blends modern folk with elements of jazz and pop, carried by a distinctive, emotive voice.
