A MAN and a woman have been accused of assaulting a police officer at a Cardigan pub.

Mark Brook and Mary Bradbury appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court both charged with assault by beating of an emergency worker.

They were alleged to have attacked a male police officer at The Grosvenor in Cardigan on March 17 last year.

Bradbury, 61, was further charged with another offence of assault by beating of an emergency worker, as she was alleged to have assaulted a female police officer at Aberystwyth Police Station on the same date.

The defendants, both of Brynheulwen in Blaenannerch, each pleaded not guilty to the offences at a hearing earlier this year.

The case came back before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on November 21, and a trial date was set for January 16.

Bradbury and 31-year-old Brook were re-admitted to bail until that date.
