Here’s a round-up of the cases.

PAUL RICHES, 55, of Maesamlwg in Tregaron, admitted careless driving and driving without an MOT.

Riches was driving a Citroen DS4 on the A482 between Ystrad Aeron and Aberaeron on May 17. The defendant was alleged to have overtaken a cyclist leaving an unsafe distance between his car and the bike, and at speed whilst another vehicle was approaching in the opposite direction.

It was later found that Riches had been driving without a valid MOT for the Citroen.

Riches admitted driving without due care and attention and using a vehicle without a valid test certificate on November 13.

At Llanelli Magistrates’ Court, Riches was fined £115, and was ordered to pay £110 in costs and a £46 surcharge.

He also had four points added to his licence.

JORDAN HOWDEN, 25, of Maes Y Deri in Lampeter, was caught driving without a licence or insurance and not reporting a crash.

Howden was alleged to have been driving a Kia Sorrento between Tregaron and Stags Head on February 20.

He was accused of being involved in a crash and causing damage to a bank at the side of the road, and not reporting it. The driver was also alleged to have left the Kia in a position on the road which could pose a danger.

Howden was found guilty of failing to report a crash, allowing a vehicle to remain at rest on a road as to involve a danger, as well as driving without a licence or insurance, after the offences were proved in his absence at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on November 13.

The defendant was handed seven points on his licence and was banned from driving for six months. He was fined £180 and was ordered to pay £110 in costs and a £72 surcharge.
