Ceredigion County Council has released a statement about the fallen tree that brought down cables and crushed a car last week.
Last Thursday (April 4), police were called to the A475 near Newcastle Emlyn following reports of a fallen tree blocking a busy town centre.
The incident forced the road to be closed for several hours while the tree was removed.
A spokesperson for the local council said: “Ceredigion County Council was notified Thursday that a tree had fallen from private land onto the A475 between the Bridge and the Rugby Club near Newcastle Emlyn.
“An emergency crew was sent to setup a road closure and diversion, and the national grid were also notified of the incident. A crane was required to remove the tree-trunk from the main road, and the road was reopened at midday on Friday.”
A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue added: “We were informed of this, but it was dealt with by the local authority and Dyfed-Powys Police. No fire or rescue crews attended."
Dyfed-Powys Police has confirmed that nobody was injured as a result of the collision.
