SPEEDING motorists are driving past a Cardigan care home at ‘unacceptable’ speeds, town councillors have been told.
Members have received calls for additional 20 mph signs at Rhos-y-Dre, Maesyrhaf and Maeshenffordd.
Cllr Catrin Miles stressed the need for ‘repeater’ signs in Maeshenffordd.
“When some drivers come past Yr Hafod they are not doing 30 mph, they are actually doing a lot more,” she said.
Cllr Teresa Harries confirmed she had also received complaints about speeding.
Cllr John Adams-Lewis suggested more speed humps were required in Maeshenffordd to lower existing speeds.
And Cllr Sian Maehrlein disclosed she had lobbied unsuccessfully for a speed hump at ‘Bumpy Lane’ near Cwnc y Dintir ‘for years’.
“The speed of some cars coming down there make it an accident waiting to happen,” she added. “It’s just so dangerous and now that it’s been tarmacked it’s even worse.”
