Here’s a round-up of their cases.

ADAM WHITEHOUSE, 50, of Goginan, admitted dangerous driving on the A485.

Whitehouse was accused of driving a Ford Focus dangerously on the A485 at Pontarsais on September 30.

He pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on March 19.

Whitehouse was said to have had a “deliberate disregard” for the safety of others and that he had done a “highly dangerous manoeuvre”.

He was sentenced to 18 weeks, suspended for 12 months. The court heard that the sentence was suspended due to his previous clean character and that this offence was “a momentary lapse of judgement”.

Whitehouse was banned from driving for two years and must pass an extended retest. He must also pay £85 in costs and a £154 surcharge.

MICHAEL THOMAS, 50, of Cellan, near Lampeter, admitted careless driving.

Llanelli Magistrates’ Court heard that Thomas’s Ford Kuga overtook a car on the A485 between Llanilar and Llanfarian September 18 as they approached an entrance on the nearside – where another vehicle was parked.

As he overtook the car, an oncoming vehicle needed to brake to avoid a crash.

The incident was caught on the overtaken vehicle’s dashcam.

Thomas pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on March 13 to driving without due care and attention.

He had four points put on his licence, was fined £138, and was ordered to pay costs of £110 and a £55 surcharge.

JOHN DAVIES, of Llanfihangel-Ar-Arth, has been charged with not identifying the driver of a vehicle suspected of committing an offence.

An Audi SQ5 was alleged to have been driving carelessly on the A475 Heol y Merwydd in Llandysul on June 6 and was filmed on a mobile phone not slowing down as it passed a horse and carriage coming in the opposite direction.

Davies was charged with failing to identify the driver of the Audi when required.

His case was adjourned at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on March 13. He will next appear in court on May 10.
