FLEET-footed Cardigan PCSO Matt Kieboom has been dropping down a gear to help serve up Christmas dinners to local pensioner groups.

The Tivyside reported last week how – in a scene straight out of hit movie comedy Hot Fuzz – Matt was cheered on by drinkers outside Cardigan’s Red Lion when he dashed past the pub in hot pursuit of a fleeing suspect.

But the speedy PCSO took on a less frenetic role when helping to serve up traditional Yuletide meals to senior citizens across the community over the weekend.

“Being a member of the Neighbourhood Policing Team isn’t just about chasing down drug users,” Cardigan Police explained in a Facebook post.

“8153 sometimes likes a slower pace of life and has been making the most of saying ‘diolch’ and paying respect to our elder communities by serving them Christmas dinners organised throughout the area by local community councils.

“Be it giving a lift to isolated people with no means of transport, serving dinners or just being in the moment and having a laugh with so many people who have lived such full and interesting lives...

“It was an honour to help and serve the communities of Aberporth, Llechryd and Ferwig at their respective dinners.

“The highlight has to have been meeting staff and residents of Llwyndyrys Care Home.

“So much work done by people in the background to make it special for everyone – Nadolig Llawen!”
