ROAD surfacing works will close a road in Ceredigion for around seven days.

Ceredigion County Council will be closing the U5071 Brithdir, Rhydlewis, in December for a week to allow for the road resurfacing works to be carried out.

The council expects the work to begin on December 13 and to last until the work is completed, which is expected to be seven days.

There will be an alternative route in place for south-westbound traffic which is to travel along the B4334 in a north-westerly direction to the junction with the U5070, turn left on the U5070 and travel to the junction with the U5071. Turn left on the U5071 and travel to a point south-west of the closure. The total distance is around 1.6 miles.

It will be vice versa for north-eastbound traffic.

Pedestrian access will be maintained for the duration of the closure.
