THIS weekend, the world comes together to remember those who fought and gave their lives during the many conflicts over the decades.

On November 11, 1918, at 11am, the Armistice came into effect to end the First World War, although it was actually signed at an earlier time, but they chose to implement it at 11am to allow for the news to reach the combatants.

Across Ceredigion, north Pembrokeshire and the wider UK, services will be held on Saturday, November 11 which is Armistice Day, marking the official end of the First World War and on Sunday, November 12, is the annual Remembrance Sunday parades and services as well as a Newcastle Emlyn standard bearer at a parade to Menin Gate in Belgium.

Here, we take a look back at some pictures from Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day services and parades in Ceredigion, north Pembrokeshire and north Carmarthenshire over the last 10 years.
