If a town could win a prize for turning on the most incredible atmosphere for Carnival Day, then Aberaeron would be a firm favourite.

And once again this year the crowds poured into the streets on Bank Holiday Monday to enjoy what can only be described as yet another magnficient turnout.

This included the number of people who dressed up for the event as well as the number of onlookers who lined the streets.

"Aberaeron certainly was a town full of happy smiley people on carnival day and I just want to give the biggest shout-out possible to every club and organisation that pulled together to make the day so fantastic," said Aberaeron town and county councillor, Elizabeth Evans.

"And this includes all the committed committees, and the very many hardworking, always-smiling-volunteers.

"It's thanks to them that Aberaeron’s summer events and competitions are such a huge success.

"And of course a huge thank you goes out to our residents for giving such a warm welcome to all our fabulous visitors, and for participating.

"Thanks to them all, we put on a very good show indeed."
