THE Cardigan Carnival 2023 will take place in August.

The carnival will take place on Saturday, August 12.

Earlier this month, the carnival royalty was selected, with Phoebe Williams and Kaydon Boughey as Carnival Queen and King respectively.

The attendants will be Olivia May Williams and Isabella Wall, with Fflur Penny as flower girl and Freddie Fowles as pageboy.

Cardigan mayor and carnival committee member Cllr. Sian Maehrlein said: “I was very proud to crown the queen on the night of the prom,” and thanked the parents for organising it.

The carnival will begin with a parade through the town at 2pm on Saturday, August 12, which will feature a float with the 2023 royal family.

Floats are to meet at Station Road at 1.15pm, and walkers at Grosvenor Hill at 1.30pm and there will be a £300 prize for the best float and prizes for the best dressed.

The parade will end at George V Playing Field where there will be stalls, games and live music.
