THESE drivers were recently in court and banned from the roads for being over the drink or drug drive limits.

Jonathan Hands, 48, of Llandysul, admitted drink driving at Aberystwyth Magistrates Court on May 24.

He admitted that on May 6, he drove a Citroen C2 on High Street, Llandysul, with a breath alcohol level of 129 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

He was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months due to the seriousness of the offence, high reading and previous for the same offence.

He was ordered to carry out an alcohol treatment programme and was banned from driving for 44 months.

He was also ordered to pay £85 costs.

Jessica Droy, 19, of Synodd Inn, Llandysul, admitted drug driving at Aberystwyth Magistrates Court on May 24.

She admitted that on January 5, she drove a Renault Megane on Trinity Road, Aberystwyth, when over the drug drive limit with 4.2 microgrammes of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol in her blood.

She was banned from driving for 14 months and ordered to pay £120 fine, £48 surcharge and £85 costs.

Thomas Rees, 28, of Anwylfan, Aberporth, admitted drink driving at Aberystwyth Magistrates Court on May 24.

He admitted that on May 7, he drove a Volkswagen van on an unclassified road at Waungilwen, Newcastle Emlyn, with a breath alcohol level of 57 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.

He was banned from driving for 36 months and ordered to pay £120 fine, £48 surcharge and £85 costs.

Lynne Higginbottom, 54, of Llanon, Aberaeron, admitted drink driving at Aberystwyth Magistrates Court on May 24.

She admitted that on April 28, she drove an Audi Q7 on the B4576 near Bethania with a breath alcohol level of 74 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

She was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £576 fine, £230 surcharge and £85 costs.
