Ceredigion’s Citizens Advice teams certainly went that extra mile last weekend when they took part in a national pilot fundraiser to highlight the incredible work that the charity achieves.

Go The Extra Mile aims to promote the fact that Citizens Advice is a network of local charities throughout the UK.

The team of around 20 staff, trustees and volunteers carried out individual walks the length and breadth of Ceredigion, planting the Citizens Advice flag in a variety of locations extending from the north of the county right down to the Teifi estuary.

Trustee Cllr Clive Davies coincided his walk with a litter pick in Cardigan while chief executive and keen runner Juliet Morris took her dogs out into the wilds of Soar y Mynydd.

“Lives have been turned upside down in recent times and the financial pressures on local households is unrelenting," said Juliet.

“Last year, we saw more people than ever before, and last month the daily number doubled to helping around 20 people every single working day.

“I’m not sure where we found the energy to get out and about in the way we did on Sunday, but the photos that show us flying the Citizens Advice flag from every corner of Ceredigion and North Pembrokeshire say everything about the pride that our staff, volunteers and trustees have in who we are, what we do and, above all, our determination to go, not just the extra mile, but as many miles as possible to help the people who need our advice and support.”
