A celebration of music for all the family to enjoy will be held at the King George V Playing Fields, Newcastle Emlyn, on Bank Holiday Monday, 8 May.
Music in the Park, organised by the newly-formed Newcastle Emlyn and District Community Collective, will start at 1pm, with music and activities until 6pm.
It has been confirmed that band Backtrax, sponsored by Newcastle Emlyn Town Council, will be headlining the music, but there is also an Open Mic session for budding musicians, poets and performers.
"The Community Collective is an idea that has been brewing for sometime," said Cllr. Dave Thomas and facilitator of the group.
"It is a forum of local community groups who collectively want to work together, supporting and promoting the events and regular activities that each group may be leading on.
"We all have a desire to put Newcastle Emlyn on the map, and this is our first collaborative event. Local groups, not yet involved with the collective, are most welcome to join."
Music in the Park is a free event, and free parking has been applied for.
Organisers are inviting all the local community and visitors to "bring a picnic and join in the fun" and as well as music there will be children's activities, a photo booth, tug of war competition and stalls with refreshments.
"We are so excited to be hosting Music in the Park," commented Jessica O'Connell, Chair of King George V Playing Fields.
"It seems appropriate that, on the weekend of King Charles' Coronation, that this new community collective has come together to collaborate on Bank Holiday Monday, the day on which communities are being encouraged to highlight the positive aspects of volunteering.
"As we are all volunteers, representing a wide range of Newcastle Emlyn's community groups, we'll be demonstrating just that!".
There will also be an opportunity to try out 'The Big Help Out' on the day. Just contact one of the organisers, they will be most grateful for your voluntary support.
Although there is free entry, donations will be accepted and proceeds will go towards supporting the playing fields and the children's play area.
Meanwhile sots on the Open Mic sessions can be booked by emailing juliemnels@outlook.com before 1 May.
