Cardigan's Mwldan venue will host Blazin’ Fiddles on St David’s Day.

The group formed after a one-off tour of the Scottish Highlands in 1999 and more than two decades on, have become one of the most prolific fiddle groups in the world.

The quartet consists of Bruce MacGregor from Inverness, Jenna Reid from the Shetland Islands, Rua Macmillan from Nairn and Kristan Harvey from Orkney. They will be accompanied by Anna Massie and Angus Lyon.

The show will encompass a rare and virtuosic selection of the fiddle’s diverse Highland and island voices. It will contain ensemble and solo-led sets backed by guitar and piano.

They have won Scotland’s Folk Band of the Year on a number of occasions, most recently in 2019.

Blazin’ Saddles will be at Mwldan on Bath House Road, Cardigan, on Wednesday, March 1 at £7.30pm. Tickets cost £19 (£18) and can be bought from www.mwldan.co.uk or by calling 01239 621200 but please note, the phone lines are open from 12pm to 8pm Tuesday to Sunday.
