A FILM society will be showing a film in Cardigan later this month.

Theatr Mwldan Film Society will screen the 2021 comedy Official Competition (rated 15) on Sunday, January 22 at Theatr Mwldan on Bath House Road, Cardigan.

The film follows conceited artists and their gluttonies. A billionaire businessman is searching for fame and social prestige and decided to make a groundbreaking film. To complete this, he hires a prestigious team including famous filmmaker Lola Cuevas (played by Penelope Cruz), Hollywood actor Félix Rivero (played by Antonio Banderas) and ageing thespian Iván Torres (played by Oscar Martínez).

The actors have big egos and don’t exactly get on well with each other but must confront each other and their own legacies through a series of hilarious tests set by Lola.

Theatr Mwldan Film Society will show Official Competition at 6.30pm on Sunday, January 22 at Mwldan. Tickets cost £7.70 or £5.90 with Theatr Mwldan Film Society membership.
