YSGOL Gyfun Emlyn are ‘extremely pleased’ to report another excellent set of A-level results, according to headteacher Hugh Thomas.

He attributed the Newcastle Emlyn secondary’s consistent success over recent years ‘to our hard-working students, the support of parents and the dedication of our excellent staff’.

A total of 35 per cent of grades were at A* or A with 66 per cent of grades at A* - B.

No less than 79 per cent of grades were at A* - C.

Notable successes included Jarrah Farkash (A*, A*, A, A, A), Owen Harries (A, A, A, A), Jakub Rutkoswki (A*, A, A, A, B) and Megan Wilson (A*, A*, A) “The school is very proud of all the students, nearly all of whom have gained a place in their first choice university,” added Mr Thomas.

“I would like to congratulate all of our students and express my gratitude to the staff for their hard work and to the parents and the governing body for their support during another challenging year.

“We wish all our students every success in the future.”
