Police are appealing for witnesses after a 70-year-old woman had to be airlifted to hospital following a road traffic collision in Newcastle Emlyn on Monday afternoon.
It is understood that the woman was walking across a pedestrian crossing on College Street when she was hit by a black coloured Honda CRV.
Police have confirmed that the woman sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident.

Another female pedestrian, aged 50, was taken to hospital with what are described as minor injuries.
"The 64-year-old driver of the Honda vehicle was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries," said a police statement.
"The incident occurred just after 4pm.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information that could help officers with their investigation, or anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam footage, is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police."
