A WELL-known Cardigan venue have responded to a radio station’s SOS after a vandal attack threw their future into doubt.
The team behind Cardigan Internet Radio were left reeling when a brick was hurled through their window during a live show on the evening of Wednesday, March 30.
Director Bobby Kelly said the station was a not-for-profit operation run on a shoestring budget and questioned whether it would survive in the face of increased insurance costs.
But now Cardigan’s Cellar Bar have announced a free fund-raiser party to raise funds for the fledgling station.
“I’m deeply heartened and humbled by the support we’ve received since the attack,” said Mr Kelly.
“I’m also looking forward to the Cellar Bar event on Wednesday (April 13).
“A very big thank you to Steve from the Cellar Bar for responding to our call for help.”
The Quay Street venue – managed by Steve Greenhalgh – has established itself as an intimate and atmospheric venue offering a variety of live music events from artists from around the world.
“When life throws you negatives, turn them into something positive,” said Steve.
“When life gives you lemons, get the cocktail shaker out!”
A number of Cardigan Radio’s presenters will attend next week’s event which lasts from 7pm until midnight.
