VOLUNTEERS at a fledgling Cardigan radio station have launched a fund-raising drive after their Pwllhai premises were targeted by vandals.

Staff at Cardigan Internet Radio – a volunteer-run, not-for-profit project – were dismayed to find a brick had been thrown through their front window on the evening of Wednesday, March 30.

Dyfed-Powys Police have been informed.

Director Bobby Kelly, who has now set up a fund-raising site, said they were planning to install CCTV.

“We’ve worked so hard to get to this point and were already on a shoestring budget,” he added.

“We’re a not-for-profit, so even paying excess on an insurance claim and the likely increase in insurance costs is a threat.

“We were just about to have the shop front done up with our logo – this is going to be tough to ride out.”

The station moved into Pwllhai six months ago and webcast their schedule 24 hours a day from a top floor studio.

They have seen a surge in followers since a lifting of Government restrictions.
