CARDIGAN Golf Club held several competitions through January, with the weather providing ideal conditions.

On Thursday 13 January, the Seniors Section attracted 29 entries for the Red Tee Stableford competition.

The winner with 40 points was Dick Perry, playing off a handicap of 17. In second place was Steff Jenkins with 39 points, playing off 24, and in third place on countback with 38 points was Ian White, playing off 4.

On Saturday 15 January, there were 40 entries for the White Box Stableford. The winner with an excellent 40 points was Hedd Adams-Lewis, playing off 10.

In second place with 37 points was Eirian Lewis, playing off 11, and in third place was Barrie Davies with 35 points, playing off 15.

The Seniors Section held a Yellow Tee Stableford on Thursday 20 January with 23 entries. The winner on countback with 34 points was Ken Evans, playing off 23.

In second place, also with 34 points, was Martin Roberts, playing off 18, and in third place on countback was Steff Jenkins with 33 points, playing off 25.

On Sunday 23 January, there were 46 entries for the Yellow Box Medal. Scoring was excellent, and the winner was Dai Evans with a nett 67, playing off 17.

In second place was Lyndsay Morgan with a nett 68, playing off 8, and in third place on countback was Rich Emanuel,with a nett 69 playing off 1.

Finally, in the Seniors Section Yellow Tee Stableford on Thursday 27 January, there were 27 entries, and the winner was Glyn Parry with 40 points, playing off 29.

In second place was Barrie Davies with 37 points, playing off 14, and in third place on countback was Dick Perry, with 36 points playing off 18.

A Wales versus Ireland boys and girls international match is taking place at Cardigan Golf Club on March 18-20 and the club will be hosting the Wales Golf Area 4 South West Wales Medal Silver Bronze match on June 6.

Meanwhile the Welsh Men’s Team Championship will be held at Cardigan Golf Club on August 5-7.
