Jonny Clayton has reflected on a remarkable 2021 so far, after lifting his fourth TV title of the year at the Jack's World Series of Darts Finals.

The Pontyberem ace added the World Series crown to his Premier League, World Grand Prix and Masters titles to his 2021 title haul thanks to an 11-6 victory over Dimitri Van den Bergh in Sunday's final in Amsterdam.

The world number eight's unprecedented rise has seen him take his place among the sport's elite, and has been one of the most remarkable stories in the sport's recent history.

Clayton said: "If someone told me in January what I would achieve this year I wouldn't have believed them.

"It's a story I'm loving every second of and I hope there's plenty more to come. It's been one heck of a ride and I hope it doesn't stop anytime soon."

Clayton came back from 8-4 down to beat fellow countryman Gerywn Price 10-9 in the quarter-finals.

He then saw off home favourite Michael van Gerwen 11-6 in the last four.

Clayton produced another fine display to beat Belgium's Van den Bergh in the final and earn himself £70,000 in prize money.

Clayton claimed a first televised world ranking title earlier this month as he beat defending champion Price to win the World Grand Prix, while he also won the 2021 Masters and Premier League of Darts.

However, the 47-year-old isn't getting carried away with his achievements, and refused to be drawn on whether he is currently the best player in the world.

"I don't know if I am [the best player in the world at the moment], but I don't want to get dragged into talking about that," said Clayton.

"I just try my best and I'm a believer that if it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

"It's going well for me at the moment, I'm just enjoying it. It's another title under my belt and I'm loving every second."

Clayton will be back in action this week at Super Series 8 as Players Championships 28-30 take place in Barnsley from Tuesday to Thursday.

The Welshman's next televised outing will be at the Cazoo Grand Slam of Darts, taking place in Wolverhampton from November 13-21.
