Motorists are urged to drive with caution following reports of a fuel spillage on the main A487 Cardigan to Aberystwyth trunk road.
The incident was initially reported to be between Synod Inn and Aberaeron, with further reports also in the Cardigan area, and motorists themselves are warning of hazardous driving conditions.
Motorists are being asked by Dyfed Powys Police to avoid the area this afternoon, if possible.
A statement from Dyfed Powys Police at around 9am on Saturday morning (October 2) said: "We are aware of a fuel spillage on the A487 between Synod Inn and Aberaeron, which is causing the road to become slippery. Please drive carefully."
A later statement at around 1.30pm from Dyfed Powys Police added: "We are also aware of reports of oil on the road making the roads slippery in the Cardigan area. Please drive carefully and avoid the area if possible."
