A NEW contract will be awarded for the council owned household waste site just outside Cardigan.
Approval has been given by cabinet to the 34-month contract for running Cilmaenllwyd Household Waste Site at Penparc to the “most economically advantageous tender” at its meeting on January 12.
The criteria focuses on 60 per cent quality and 40 per cent price.
Private ‘pink’ papers including the details of the two tenders made by interested companies were not discussed at the meeting although the scores of the procurement exercise were included in public papers in anonymised form.
‘Supplier A’ will be awarded the contract as the most economically advantageous tender, subject to a 10-day statutory standstill period, and will be named by the council once agreements are finalised.
The contract will start on April 2021, with an option to extended it for a further 24 months after it ends in January 2024, and aims to “divert as much of this waste from landfill as possible.”
