THE opening or closing of children’s play areas in Cardigan is down to individual owners.
Cllr Sian Maehrlein said residents were disappointed that a small play area at Felin Ban was closed.
“The gate is padlocked and people are asking me why it is closed,” she said at October's meeting of Cardigan Town Council.
Cllr Clive Davies said the park was owned by Tai Ceredigion and if they consider the risk too great during the current pandemic, then it was up to then whether the play area was open or closed.
Currently, the town council-run parks at King George V playing fields and Pentop are still open following rigorous risk assessments but the Ceredigion Council play area at Netpool is closed.
