CONCERNS were raised about a seasonal glamping business's location next to a school but in Ceredigion but it has been given the go-ahead.
A change of use application to use agricultural land for two glamping tents and basic facilities during the summer months at Llanfihangel-y-Creyddyn has been approved by Ceredigion county councillors.
Members of the development control committee heard at its virtual meeting that concerns had been raised by the Trawsgoed Community Council and Lanfihangel y Creuddyn Primary School governing body about child safety.
In a letter from the applicant read out to the committee it was asked why the governing body thought visitors would be of “questionable character” and it was highlighted that it was easier to see into the school from the churchyard or road than it was from the site.
Planning officers found there would not be any increased impact on the school or privacy with mature hedging around the site.
The proposed tents will have a 5m radius and be approximately 9ft high with a purposely made flooring mat and there will also be an eco-friendly wash room with compostable toilet and camping shower, which would be removed with the tents after the holiday season.
