A NEW Quay drink-driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months.
Alan Lesley Phillips, aged 74, was driving a Mazda on the A487 at Aberaeron on March 23 when he was stopped by police. He had 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Phillips pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
As well as the 12-month driving ban, Phillips was fined £265 with £85 prosecution costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
