MEETINGS have been held to discuss the future of Cardigan Swimming Pool.
It was revealed last month that the town pool has a serious problem after an investigation by a specialist engineering firm revealed sub-base movement and distributed micro cracking in many areas of the pool bottom causing it to leak.
Cardigan mayor Cllr Clive Davies told the town council that several meetings had taken place with the pool’s trustees to look at the possibility of renovating the pool or building a new one and what grants are available to help.
Ceredigion Council was also involved in the discussions, along with local MP Ben lake and AM Elin Jones.
“A swimming pool is vital for our coastal community,” said Cllr Davies.
“I’ve had an initial meeting with pool representatives to help put together a team to explore all possible options for a facility serving Cardigan and the surrounding communities."
