A NEWCASTLE Emlyn drink-driver has been hit with a four-year ban.
Richard Gary Lewis, of Lloyd Terrace, Adpar, Newcastle Emlyn, was stopped while driving on the B4332 at Abercych on May 23. He had 43 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
As well as a 48-month driving ban, Lewis was made the subject of a community order with a rehabilitation requirement of 16 days and 80 hours unpaid community work to be completed within the next 12 months.
He must also pay £85 prosecution costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
