THE coronavirus lockdown gloom was lifted at Dyfed Shire Horse Farm at Eglwyswrw last week with the birth of a foal.
At 9pm on the Queen's birthday (Tuesday, April 21), 11-year-old Santes (Dyfed St Helena) who is a sister to Celt the Drum Horse in London, gave birth to her first foal, a young filly.
She is only the fourth foal born on the farm in seven years and is a fourth generation of the Dyfed bloodline that was started in the early 1980s by farm patriarch and grandfather JR Lewis.
Mam and little one are doing very well and there's be an announcement shortly on a name. For more photos and videos, go to the farm’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
